methamphetamine. prosecutors say he also provided drugs to minors. the case against him may also include underage sex and child pornography. sky 7 was over his home where authorities served a search warrant two weeks ago. prosecutors say he ran his drug operation out of his home. even though he was an add perimeter he still wrote prescriptions for individuals. >> he prescribed drugs for 29 individuals, 111 prescription for typically abused substances. >> he resigned from him job after his arrest. he's free on 1 it would million dollars bail and faces up to 25 years in prison. >> oakland police may be ready to ask the county or state to patrol streets. major crimes are up 20% this year. he would like to temporarily hire officers from other agencies. right now they have 629

officers. that's down more than 200 from four years ago. officers are currently required to work overtime to fill staffing levels. they are training new officers at a police academy but they won't be ready until at least march. >> a former eagle scout candidate plans to deliver a stack of petitionings urging local boy scout leadtories reinstate him. ryan anderson was dismissed days before he turned 18 and completed his requirements for eagle award, that's the top award in scouting -- because he is gay. his mother launched an online petition. more than 400,000 people signed that petition electronically. leaders of the boy scout council say they will accept the petitions and meet with the andersons. a cold war relic will remain standing atop of the south bay's highest peaks for five more years. you can see the radar on top the mountain. the mid-peninsula open space

>> welcome back. it's 4:45. this morning the man arrested on charges of plotting to blow up the federal reserve building in new york is being held without bail. 21-year-old man is being questioned today after being arrested yesterday in a sting operation. he tried to detonate a van parked outside the fed with what he thought were explosives. actually they were fakes sold to him by an undercover agent. it is three blocks away from ground zero. he was here on a student visa and claimed he had linked to al-qaeda. a man who lost his business on westportal avenue also lost some precious giants memorabilia. dr. fred warren was happy nobody got hurt but he was so disappointed when he saw his prized tim lincecum jersey was

until about 8:00. look at the coast, half moon bay, a hotspot. 77. i checked several other half moon bay recording stations and they were all in the mid-to upper 70s so i'm thinking that's legitimate. 49 at santa rosa, 50s and 60s. a lot of microclimates this morning. head down to the inland. 65 salinas, about 60 in gilroy. here's what i think is going to happen. this will be our last hot afternoon, the last day of offshore winds. cooling trend starts tomorrow with the sea breeze returning and a couple cold grant will come through and bring fall flavor to the forecast and rain possible next week. today compared to average, anywhere from 9 degrees warmer in mappa to double digits, ten to tough teen degrees warmer in these areas. it puts our temperatures down in the south bay in the mid-to upper 80, each 90s possible. low to mid-80s on the peninsula. check out the sunshine along the

projects along fell and okay streets along scott and baker streets. the new plan will construct a wider bike way with planters for buffers. the city will need to remove more than 50 park spaces to make this happen. improvements are scheduled again in the coming months. >> a new study suggests that old people who eat lots of carbohydrates increase their risk of mild cognitive impairment. that's people between 70 and 89. those who devour cashes have four times the risk of developing problems with memory and judgment. mild cognitive impairment and often a precurser to alzheimer's. a new study said a dose of daily vitamins reduced the lower of cancer in men. men who took vitamins for a decade or more lowered their risk of dealing conditioner for 8%. a preach study found single vitamins didn't prevent diseases and some were harmful.
